The Los Angeles Zoo Lights were overrated, but this couple made the night one I wouldn’t forget. We headed to do a couple shoot there, while the park was lit up in the darkness. We trust you, they said. It was all I needed to hear. I didn’t bring a flash on purpose so I wouldn’t clutch on it, we wanted to play with night photography. Play with the light around us and manipulate it to fit our needs.

They Let Me Do What I Want

Because they let me do whatever I wanted with the light and the dark and we made magic. I did some funky double exposures with the lights that bounced off the water show and created some black and whites that make my heart happy. The Los Angeles Zoo gave us plenty of locations and different light options to choose from. It wasn’t at all what I expected, the lights they had didn’t mimic the commercials they showed. So, in that way I was disappointed.

But, in the “I’m here to photography my couple” way, I was absolutely not upset about the way the park was set up. It was a playground for me. A challenge. A fun and exhilarating challenge. There was grain, and colorful lights, and blur, and I embraced the whole damn thing.

        She Reviewed Me

Here’s what they said about the night!! And I’m sharing it ’cause I just love them so much and they’re so incredibly sweet but it made me so happy what they said about it at all.

Fatima is such a warm charismatic, and passionate soul. It’s eminent that she works hard to cultivate her craft and to capture her client’s most authentic moments. I had no idea it’d be possible to capture the beautiful fragility, strength, and vulnerability that comes with a relationship on camera, much less to make it one of the most artful experiences I’ve taken part of. Fatima communicates her vision and is flexible within the moment to make both her clients and situation feel safe, content, and happy.

It was so easy to shoot with her, we honestly forgot at some points that a camera was being pointed at us! She’s the most amazing editor too – shooting in the dark is hard, but she knew exactly what lighting the shots needed and edited our shoot so SO incredibly quickly.  I can wholly and sincerely recommend her for future clients, shoots, and events. She is so incredibly talented, humble, kind, and wonderful inside and out.
